Band 4: The Drums

Drinks on a Monday anyone?

For The Drums? Hell yes!

After an evening of unripe avocado, Fly Spray salad dressing and of course wine, it was time to head to The Round House for The Drums .

Probably the best birthday gift I got last year was a ticket to this see epic band. I only recently became a fan, after I moved to London I think. My main memory of listening to these guys would be sitting on the tube; I think I actually may have listened to both albums on shuffle seven times, back to back.

The venue was one of the most famous venues in Camden, The Roundhouse. The book I’m reading about Bowie mentioned it as one the places D.B first performed. I believe a venue is  a good one if you can see the stage from anywhere and The Roundhouse is intimate enough that you can’t help but be close to the front.

The excitement was pretty intense when we walked in, I got that nice racing heart feeling. Two more drinks and a poor attempt at a British accent later, The Drums came on stage.

‘Me and the Moon’ was one of the first tracks I can remember hearing and the one I was most looking forward to, but the real highlight for me was the encore ‘Let’s go surfing!’

Oh and how about the Boy George, it’s not everyday you see that cracker perform ‘Do you really want to hurt me.’  Something worth writing home about:

Another epic band ticked off the list!
