Band 10: Six60

I’m not really a patriotic person. In fact I would be more likely to avoid being in a crowd of Kiwis in London, as believe it or not they don’t do a lot to boost our reputation. So after getting tickets to see Six60 in their first ever sold out show in the U.K I was a little nervous to see what the crowd might be like.

Lucky for me, my amazing companion Olivia was not prepared to take shit from anyone and found us a spot on the barrier, so not only did we have a great view of the band, we also didn’t have to watch drunk New Zealanders cry and start every sentence with ‘Back home in New Ziland….’

I only really knew two of this bands songs ‘Rise Up’ and ‘Don’t for get your roots.’ But I actually have to say that I was well impressed with Six60, they had the right mix of personality, passion and pride in their music.

As much as I hate to admit it, this band actually made me feel a little home sick.

Don’t forget your roots, my friend

Don’t forget your family, yeah

Don’t forget your roots, my friend

The ones who made you

The ones who brought you here

Don’t forget your roots, my friend, yeah

Don’t forget your family, yeah

Don’t forget your roots, my friend, yeah
